Calculator
Currency Converter
Convert an amount between currencies using a reference rate table.
How does currency conversion work here?
Converting between two currencies goes through a common reference point — this calculator converts your amount to USD first, then from USD to the target currency, using a table of reference rates. That two-step approach is also how most real conversion tools handle less common currency pairs.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the note say "reference only, not real-time"?
Exchange rates move constantly during trading hours and this calculator uses a fixed rate table rather than a live market feed. For anything involving actual money changing hands, check a live rate from your bank or a real-time source at the time of the transaction.
Why is the rate I get different from what my bank charges?
Banks and exchange services add a markup (spread) on top of the mid-market rate, plus sometimes a flat fee, which is how they make money on currency exchange. The mid-market rate shown by converters like this one is the reference point, not what any individual bank will actually offer you.
What is the mid-market rate?
It's the midpoint between the buy and sell price of a currency pair on the wholesale market — effectively the "real" exchange rate before any provider's markup is added. It's the benchmark most currency converters, including this one, use as their reference.
How often should I expect rates to change?
Major currency pairs can move measurably within minutes during active trading hours, and cumulatively by several percent over weeks depending on economic conditions. For anything beyond quick reference, always confirm the current rate before finalizing a transaction.
Rates are for reference only and may not reflect real-time market rates.
